  • BRUSNIK ISLET is truly the stuff of fairy tales. From afar, it looks like a scene straight out of Jurassic Park and the story of this island is unique.
  • TAKE A WALK along the cyclopean beach and explore its moon-like terrain, discover endemic species, and refresh yourself in the crystal-clear blue sea.
  • DISCOVER the so-called ‘jastožeras’, places where fishermen used to keep lobsters, located in a natural fissure that divides the island into two partsfishermen and hear the fascinating fishermen stories.

What to expect

For adventure seekers, Brusnik is a hidden gem, offering far more than meets the eye. While the Adriatic boasts another volcanic island—Jabuka—its remote location in the open sea makes it much more challenging to visit.

We depart in the morning from Komiža, embarking on a 30-minute motorboat ride. Upon reaching Brusnik, we will stroll along its cyclopean beach and explore the entire island.

In the past, the only regular visitors to Brusnik were the fishermen of Komiža, whose prized lobster catch once adorned the tables of European nobility. Today, the island’s only permanent resident is a tiny endemic species of black lizard. Due to its harsh terrain, which retains little water, only a few rare plant species have adapted to survive here.

After exploring this extraordinary island, we will stop at Biševo on our way back. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to visit the Visitor Center, located at the top of the island, or simply relax and take a swim in the crystal-clear sea.
