ABOUT VIS HIKING
What is it about islands that makes them such appealing places for a walking? Perhaps it’s the slower pace of life that encourages gentle rambling, that feeling of escape from the hurly-burly of the real world, the sense of exploring.
Hike to the highest peak of Vis island and enjoy the spectacular panoramic view or explore authentic villages near Komiza and the beauty of traditional architecture. The forests, macchia-covered land, rocks, and coastline karrens create diverse island habitats for hundreds of plant species, including aromatic, medicinal, seasoning, and honey-producing varieties. Some are very rare and categorized as endangered island species. We offer two various hiking tours :

HIKE TO LOST VILLAGES ITINERARY:
Hike from Komiza to St. Bjož hill where will walk to a little chapel, ring the old bells and say hello to “Thinking tree”. After a short break in the old village of Bjož, an abandoned hidden gem surrounded by greenery and mediterranean plants, we will continue our walk to Dragodid, a tiny village nestled in the hills overlooking Komiža. Dragodid is protected as a cultural monument.
On the way back, we will enjoy the scents of rosemary, lavender, and other herbs while learning about their traditional uses on the island. We will then proceed to Barjoška bay, the main filming location of Mamma Mia 2, situated on the northwest side of the island. On our return journey, we will pass by the remains of Manjarema fort, dating back to the 19th century. Finally, we will return to Komiza.”
