WHO WE ARE & WHAT WE DO
We are a family-run local company based on Vis Island, in Komiza. Our journey began with the establishment of a paragliding club. We are all sports enthusiasts, nature and history lovers, and deeply committed to environmental preservation. Many of us are active members of the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service (HGSS).
We live on Vis Island year-round—we are true locals! 😊 Over the past 20 years, Alternatura has grown into a respected tourist agency, known for its creativity and passion for showcasing the traditions, natural beauty, and adventure experiences of Vis Island.
With over two decades of experience, we have carefully developed all our tours and programs to offer authentic experiences, using our deep local knowledge. As certified guides, we interpret the island’s natural and cultural heritage and personally provide all our listed tours.

We love Vis Island—it’s our home! Our passion is to introduce you to authentic local experiences and natural wonders beyond the typical tourist path. We offer group tours, private tours, team-building activities, and educational programs, all with the flexibility to match your preferences.

ALTERNATURA EXPERIENCES INCLUDE:
We take great pride in offering programs aboard the gajeta falkuša—an ancient wooden fishing boat that represents Vis Island’s thousand-year-old fishing heritage.
Our Military and Discovery tours are organized using Land Rover jeeps, each accommodating up to 8 people. For additional requests and transfers, we also provide high-quality minibuses.
We use Prijon sit-in single and double sea kayaks, fully equipped with paddles, buoyancy aids, dry bags, spray decks, and more. We also offer sit-on-top Dag Lagoon 2 kayaks for two people, perfect for beginners and daily tours.
We offer a selection of high-quality speedboats to suit your preferences and budget. Choose from motor yachts and RIB boats to find the perfect vessel for your ultimate adventure.
For our bike tours, we use high-quality TREK bikes. E-bikes are available upon request.
